Warranty

Thank you for purchasing a Composite Truck Body product.

Composite Truck Body (hereinafter “CTB”) provides the following Warranty to the original purchaser (hereinafter “you,” “yours” or “your”). Your CTB fiberglass truck body ( all models), if installed by a dealer authorized by CTB is warranted against defects in materials and workmanship as set forth below. This Warranty extends only to the product structure (the fiberglass shell) of the truck body and only against defects in materials and workmanship when the body is put to its normal use.

CTB warrants the fiberglass structural material below color surface for one-hundred twenty (120) months (10 years). Covered by this warranty are the separation of fiberglass panels, structural splitting of the fiberglass, delamination of the fiberglass and the failure of the general structural integrity of the body. Hardware, moving mechanical components, including locks, latches, hinges and CTB slide outs are warranted for twelve (12) months. Component parts that are repaired or replaced shall be covered by this Warranty for a period of eighteen (18) months from the date of repair of part, or shipment, if applicable, or for the remaining term of the original Warranty, whichever period is longer. This Warranty takes effect on the purchase date but its application is conditioned on the receipt by CTB of the payment in full of the purchase price of the product.

EXCLUSIONS: This Warranty does not cover: a) components not manufactured by CTB, including inverters, light bulbs and power vents; b) peeling, hazing, crazing, chalking and discoloration of the gel coated surface; and c) claims or operational difficulties caused by the following situations: accident, abuse, misuse, alteration, off-road driving, road hazards, vandalism, fire, collision, fading from sunlight or chemical application, improper installation by customer or customer’s agent, overloading, improper care and maintenance, normal wear and tear, failure to follow maintenance recommendations, as well as any deterioration or damage caused by weather, including wind storms, hail storms, hurricanes, acid rain, floods and other natural disasters. Fine surface cracks are not considered a manufacturing defect. This Warranty does not cover parts and accessories installed by customer or customer’s agent.

Except as expressly set forth herein, CTB disclaims all other warranties, expressed or implied, including but not limited to, any implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. In no event will CTB be liable for any damages or loss arising from purchase, installation or use of the product, including, but not limited to, lost profits, goodwill, punitive damages, exemplary damages, indirect, incidental or consequential damages.

DISCLOSURE OF DEFAULT AND PROCEDURE FOR MAKING A WARRANTY CLAIM: Any claim under this Warranty must be made in writing to the address below, within a maximum period of thirty (30) days after discovery of any defect or the occurrence of any other damage. Rights under this Warranty are conditioned on the presentation of the original or a copy of the original invoice issued by CTB or an authorized distributor by the person or entity making the claim under this Warranty. This Warranty is void without such proof. Warranty claims will be honored only when notification has been made to CTB and authorization by CTB has been given. CTB shall, at its option, provide a factory or local representative to inspect the equipment prior to issuing such authorization.

REMEDY: CTB may, at its discretion, repair or replace the defective component with a component of equal value or similar model, based on current model availability. Parts will be shipped to the customer for replacement. CTB also may, at its discretion, dispatch a repair agent to resolve this Warranty claim. All labor claims for Warranty repairs and service must be approved by CTB prior to authorization of repairs and each such repairs or service shall be subject to the flat rate manual as approved and amended by CTB from time to time. Fiberglass repairs can be made by qualified vendors in the proximity of the customer provided that the servicing facility contacts CTB before commencing work and CTB issues written approval.

Non-CTB components: Warranty claims for non-CTB-manufactured components are to be handled directly between the repair location/end user and the component manufacturer. For warranty issues involving non-CTB-manufactured components, the repair facility or the end user may contact CTB for assistance in determining how and where the warranty issue can be addressed. Whenever possible, CTB will direct the warranty issue to the particular component manufacturer’s location.

MAINTENANCE: To maintain the validity of this Warranty:

(1) The owner must lubricate every two (2) months the moving parts (latches mounted at the top and bottom and the center handle). An oil based lubricant such as “Moovit” is especially recommended. The use of water based lubricants may void this Warranty. (2) The owner must conduct semi-annual maintenance consisting of a thorough cleaning with soap and water and the application of a car wax. Failure to follow the recommendations listed in this Warranty, including maintenance recommendations, will void this Warranty.

This document constitutes the entirety of this Warranty granted by CTB to the beneficiary hereof and voids any other agreement, communication, and oral or written statements before or concomitant with the purchase of the product. CTB reserves the right to change the terms and conditions of this Warranty in the future. Waiver of one or more terms of this Warranty by CTB will not change the terms of any other parts of this Warranty. If any part of this Warranty is deemed unenforceable by a court or other tribunal, the rest of this Warranty remains effective as the sole Warranty on the product.
